spyster Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Mate of mine broke his eggbeaters after 6 months. He has changed to SPD's. I was looking at a set of Candy 11's. Bike pron, but the shop guy told me I would be spending more time maintaining than riding. Have stuck to my TIME ATAC's and remain very happy. No maintenance needed in 4 years and they perform better than SPD's in mud. Lighter as well.
patches Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 I saw this post then thought "I have a set of Crank Brothers pedals"... then I had a flashback... a hint of a repressed memory... I actually have 2 pairs, and I have tried hard to forget that I even owned the one Crank Brothers Mallet 2's - My only cleats. ot clogged in sticky mud. I don't like cleats anyway, flats for the win.Crank Brothers 50/50 flats - had them on a bike for a few months. They were banished into the "might be useful oneday/donate" box. Tried to forget I ever rode such things.
HOEKVLAG Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 i've got Candy's on both my MTB's - X on the one and 1 on the other. Never had any issues, find them better in mud than the Shimano SPD's - although to be fair I ha dthe entry level Shimano's. I also prefer the float of the Crankbrothers on the MTB (I use Shimano on the road...). Troi Sport 1
