Best is to read reviews on anything before buying. Sites like roadbikereview and bikeradar are always good. Weightweenies have forums where member discuss everything to death. One good thing about Americans they test everything and wanna tell everyone about it after.

IMO I have found Mavic SLS to be best all round in terms of weight and price. Aluminium brake surface, so no fancy pads needed. Light at just under 1400g. Reliability and a good brand. A pair of Zipp 202's at that weight is over R20000.

Would not suggest them if you weigh more than 90kg's- the agents replaced my rear rim and spokes 10 months ago and 2 weeks ago the rim cracked again.

Didnt know they had a weight limit on them. Thankfully I weigh less than 75kg.
