Access vs trespassing

I have been looking to take my MTB of the beaten track......sleep a night or two in the veld and mountains and come back totally refreshed and recharged for life......but alas.

 

It seems that every piece of land, gorge river and mountain is owned by somebody and access to this is strictly prohibeted if you have two wheels and wish to sleep in the veld.

 

I have been looking at the cape ranges (Bainskloof to Jonkershoek area) on google earth and there is PLENTY of paths and the scenery is unbelievelable!

 

Surely capenature / SANparks can be more accomodating?

 

Have anybody else run into the same problems or am I the only fool that wants to do an "outride"??

 

***Some hubbers already helped me with numbers and advice on previous trips which just shows that thehub is a wondefull place :-)

If you make any head way please let me know as I would really like to either join you or do a solo ride like this. I know it would be pointless is everybody started doing this but it's been on my mind for a few years now!
