Is there a difference between the Shimano deore disc brakes and the Shimano Deore LX disc brakes, besides the name and colour

here you are, but I've never looked closely at either in real life, it just so happens I was looking at fitting discs to my hardtail:

The LX brake has more in common with the XT than the Deore M525 brake caliper.

 

It's a one piece design whereas the Deore is still a two piece caliper
