Any Hubbers doing TRX Suspension Training?

http://www.trxtraining.com/suspension-training

Apart from doing the odd weekend ride, I (momentarily) lost my my MTBing MOJO & started going to the gym more often. I've been combining TRX & Spinning. Really enjoy it. Noticed that my core strength significantly improved, since I started.

Have you seen any benefits in general terms e.g. strength, endurance, muscle mass, toning, etc.?

.... and cycling specific improvements?

How long have you been doing suspension training?

Length of the sessions?

How many times per week?

Are you doing a group PT class or train on your own?

Your experience?

been doing it since someone very kindly got it for me from the states before it was available here. I cannot thank that person enough. one of the best gifts ever.

Brilliant bit of kit for near insane levels of pain and suffering. Whether you are using it for arms or legs, it almost always activates the core, so brilliant for allround development. A strong core is a must in cycling, so you will always win from that perspective.

How long: about 2 years.

Frequency: at least twice a week, but depends on training program.

Training setup: home, solo mission.

Experience: perfect training tool, perfect for home use and is very portable. When coupled with balance ball or BOSU ball, it gets even better/more f**** eina. Very highly recommended. If can afford it, and the space, get two. omg. death!

Things to note:

you will need some space for quite a few of the exercises. If door mounted, make sure you have about 2.5m arc of free space

depending on the option you purchase, there are optional extras like a roof mount or door mount. Get both. ($$$!) Will help with portability.

Just a caution to those have issues with dislocated patellas and the like: ignore all exercises that cause lateral loading of the knee. I blew my knee out twice while using the TRX. It's not a fault of TRX, and thus an almost unnecessary caution. But one well worth heeding. Just cos the training tool changed, doesnt mean the knee healed itself automagically. But once those exercises were exorcised, i had zero issues using the TRX, hence why I so highly recommend it.
