Am I the only one having troubles in getting a Cyclo-sport license from CSA via the internet? 

I am a member of an existing club.  I registered on myrace.co.za in December 2007 and paid the R 75.00 and to date nothing has happened. 

 

I received garbled and incomplete messages from CSA/myrace regarding my status on club and provincial level.  I liaised with both my club and the province to ensure that confirmation om my membership to the club and province is forwarded to CSA/myrace.  They immediately responded and did the necessary confirmations. 

 

Still no progress. 

 

I sent a pm (on this forum) followed by e-mails to Carinus Lemmer stating my status in terms of CSA and myrace verifications and date of payment and besides a promise last week Monday (that my license card will be printed by Fri 01 Feb 08, and that myrace and CSA would reflect such progress, nothing has changed.   (I cannot confirm if my card has been printed or not, but I can verify my status on CSA and myrace web-sites - and there has been no change)

 

Is this normal?  I will most probably have to pay the recreational race fee for this weekends Herald (mtb and road).  More money to CSA, but I have already requested and paid for a cyclo-sport license. 

 

Please, whoever is responsible, sort out this mess!  Ek is nou gatvol!

Casspir, dont worry it seems everyone is having problems with the online registration. i and others have experienced the same problems. if you ride in any races in the near near future, race personnel would probably know this fact. so dont worry you are not alone. i just think it will take a bit of time due to the high volume of licenses.

The following from the Fat Tracks MTB Club website:

 

Because of the problems CSA have been having, all licenses are valid until the 17th February 2008. So if you don't have your license yet, don't stress, you will be able to use last year's license for the Herald!

Also had a problem.  When I tried to do it online everytime I chose my club the NEXT button kept disappearing.  The only way I could get to the next page was to not choose a club.  Now they are sending me garbled messages as well.

It's teething problems - regardless of quality control there's always scenarios that no one has thought about. Despite the garbled messages I heard that a heap of licenses has been issued through the system already.

Paid but the site still say I haven't.  So I am hoping it is only a site problem.  Don't know if I should mail them to find out what going on. 

 

I would really have appreciated a simple email stating they received your application and payment and that the License is in the mail.

Justin here from MyRace.... firstly, thanks for trying out the new site and for the feedback, both positive and negative.

Anyone who has had troubles with their online license app is welcome to send me an e-mail me at justin@myrace DOT co.za.

 

There have been problems with the registration process but there have also been some 1200 odd SUCCESSFUL applications..... And we remain 100% committed to improving the 'user experience' to minimise those negatives.

(Please bear in mind that this in not a ?simple online shopping cart? system and involves Club, Provincial and national rule sets to be applied)

 

The online license procedure is as follows;

 

1.    Register with MyRace/CSA on the cms.cyclingsa.com website

2.    Use the activation code to confirm your e-mail address

3.    Complete the application process, entering your license, province and club.

 

Before we can issue a license, we need to get approval from your club and province in terms of CSA/UCI rules. This is the single biggest hurdle that we face at the moment, so if your application has stalled, please check with your club that CSA have the latest contact details?..  

 

If you are unsure as to where your application stands, then use the ?CHECK MY STATUS? option on the cms.cyclingsa.com website.

 

If your status is ? ?REGISTERED WITH MYRACE?, then you need to logon, complete the application process and pay.

If it says ? ?PENDING INTERNAL APPROVAL?, then your application is sitting with your club / province for approval ? and you need to get them to update the status or contact us.

 

Otherwise, thank you for your understanding while we sort out the last few bugs? we promise that the system will add huge value to your cycling experience in the near future.
