Sydmeister Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 I'm looking to get away for the weekend and go and do some mountain biking with my wife. We usually go to Mankele, but I see there's a comp this weekend there.Any suggestions for some nice trails to ride around the area. BTW, I'm situated in Witbank so i'm looking for places in the radius of about 200km's.

MTBc Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 misty valley is very nice. only been there once for the 24 hour they had in april (so havent tried all the routes), but definitey should be a consideration. if you want a dedicated biking get away, then Mankele 1st choice.

Artista, I went for a ride one saterday with Club100 in the nature reserve.They're an awesome bunch of people, will join them again for a ride in the near future. Had an injury after my last ride with them and was off the bike for an while now. I just want to get out of town a bit this weekend.
Paul Ruinaard Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 I am off to Waterval Boven this weekend. There are some 40kms of trail there and some really good climbs. Go in to the town and speak to the guys from Roc n Rope - they will show you where to go.
Bongoleo Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I agree with IQ of 2 Go to Waterval Boven. 9km out of town is Tranquilitas Adventure Farm, they maintain about 40-50km of singletrack in the hills behind Boven. You can get a variety of trails from beginner (read kids trails) to really technical enduro type trails. They also have a 4X track to play on. The singletrack trails are not just paths or cattle paths that have been turned into trails but MTB specific trails that flow and are exiting to ride.Trails were cut by Glenn Harrison the same guy that does the Joberg2c singletrack. Permits are available in town at Roc'nRope or at the Tranquilitas campsite, R30 per day or R50 for the weekend.

MTBmeyer Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Having been to ride in Booven and in particular to Tranquilitas adventure farm i can highly recommend going there. Some of the best trails i have ever ridden and great facilities available. just book far in advance to not be disappointed.
