I bought a pair of Bontrager RXL about 18months ago on a sale because they were at a good price. Did not have much use for them up to now since my specialized shoes were still fine.

The specialized shoes are a bit moeg now and it is time to start using the bontragers. Having only done a few rides in past with them I never really noticed the "fit" issue. It basically feels like my heel wants to slip out now and then. Off the bike the fit seems to be ok. It is a size 44 and I normally where a 43 or 43.5

Can one buy a heel liner tipe of thing that helps with the fit or is it better to just buy other shoes? I have noticed my calves are a bit tender lately and I assume it might have something to do with the shoe fit perhaps?

never heard of a heel liner bt one can advise adding a thicker sole (having said that the standard eSoles are amazing),or maybe they are just abit to big!

these shoes are awesome tho, have them RXL Road and MTB versions

Yes Babse they are easy on the eye  The inner eSoles are amazing and the best I have ever seen on any of my shoes I ever owned. Like you say, maybe they are just too big

If I had to get other shoes it would probably be between the supplest sub zero and the funky looking Fizik M5 and perhaps one of the Diadora models

Go have a look at Makro/Game for the Sof Comfort Heel liners, should sort you out.

Got some 44 size Spez road shoes for sale :whistling:

Thanks bud! Will go check that out! I'll pass on the road shoes. Already have to many because of "well priced" encounters
