Namaqua National Park and Richtersveld National Park Routes???

So me and my beautiful Lady are heading up to the Coastal Camps at Namaqua and Sendelingsdrif in Richtersveld.

Anybody know of any routes? If we can even ride in the parks? Is it worth it to take the bikes up? Pointers? Maps? Routes?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, navigational skills took a sharp dent when a 16km Trail Run took almost 4hrs and into the darkness the last time I tried a new trail, haha.

I have not but your post made me go to the Namaqualand site and it looks awesome

Not sure about riding there as it prob has a lot of sand

I think I will plan a week up that way sometime.Love those camp sites...no water or ablutions Def a 4 x 4 trail to be done

Not so sure about Namaqua, but reckon Richtersveld would be epic riding...Take into account though that it is probably the hottest place in SA. I wouldn't want to ride there in summer or spring.

 

Sendelingsdrif is at the main gate, so even if you aren't allowed to ride in the national park, atleast you will be able to ride on the outside of the park, which coincidentally is the world heritage site.

 

If in doubt though, give the Richtersveld park manager a call. He is very helpful and will go out of his way to answer your question.
