He had a good career. He is probably doing the honorable thing retiring rather than to deal with not being offered a contract by any team. He does not want to pull a Danie Gerber on himself (one of my favorite players of all time, I have to add).

 

For the sake of cycling in SA I really hope he says involved in the development of the sport here. He has a wealth of experience which is priceless in this country
