yeah...dont know why he doesnt want to enter <_< ....he has all the equipment to do this!

He does have most of the equipment to do this but he had to choose one event for the month and he chose to do the enduro at cascades :whistling:

Saving for next years trip is making his funds disappear!

The track was extremely rough and very lose. That said Tiaan (pictured above) seemed to have no issue with it and smoked the field with a winning time of 2:49 (no one else broke the 3min barrier).

The uplift was good, I can't complain there and I wouldn't have wanted to do more than the 3 practice runs I got in, prior to the one race run. The track itself is very rough with plenty of rocks exposed (and certainly not AM/trail bike friendly, nor a good track for people to learn on/get into the sport of DH, IMHO). Due to the nature of the soil and the lack of rain the berms were all extremely lose and (for me) very unpredictable and plenty of off-camber. I never raced the track, I merely rode down trying to stay upright.

It was an expensive race for me  trashed rear derailleur, trashed Fox 40 lowers and I decent gouge in the frame of my bike :cursing:

My take on Harties.

It’s a proper course to sort out ones Technical riding. I really hope that they can improve and make this our flagship course in JHB. We are on the back foot when it comes to technical DH course in SA. This will help the level of all the riders in JHB to get to a higher standard. Spoke to Dirk who has the mother of all courses in Malelane said it’s a hard course to race. Seeing Tiaan’s tweet saying Quote “ Super Tough race today pretty sure every rider crashed including me but stoked to take top spot”. This makes me happy to see they also had the same feeling as I did. I am sure over time and more work this course will become awesome. To all the riders for getting down to the bottom in one piece well done. I hope the two guys (David and not sure the other guys name) who had suspected broken Ankles are ok.

To the organisers a big up to you for Buliding this course in the time you did. I will defenatly be back. Perhaps next time the score wount look like Harties 3 Sean 0.

Once i have sorted out the Gopro footage of my crash off the big rock drop off i will post for all you to see how not to do it.

Davi 'only' did ligaments. Pierre bust the ankle proper (bones, ligaments, the lot!), going for an op today AFAIK.

Oh really...

ask him about his race shirt

hahaha! but yeah... I don't think there was a single rider that didn't have some sort of tumble on that track.

this morning I watched the helmet cam of your WP Champs track... I was extremely jealous!

Not just proper tumbles...but a lot of bum slides happened too.

Some places the only way to get down was to ride your bike or to slide on your bumb - the track wasnt walking friendly at all.
