K2C Weather and what gear to wear?

Hi Everyone

 

I am a first time K2C'r and I am hearing the weather is going to be cold.

 

Could someone advise me what gear I should wear, have a First Ascent windbreaker but I dont have long tights.

I will be riding with one of those tight tops under my cycling top, I think with a biggish windbreaker you might get a bit hot on the climbs. Also it looks like there won't be too much wind so it might heat up later in the day. Maybe take one of those small apple windbreakers that can fold up small into your pockets if you start to get hot.

My first K2C aswell. I willbe wearing a thin long sleeve top and arm warmers. Rode Java at Robertson and doubt it will be colder than that morning. With an early 14km climb I reckon you'll be dumping clothes not even halfway up. My 2c

Just take clothes for all types of weather. If you wake up on Sunday morning and it's raining, wear a wind breaker and maybe a base layer.

 

If it's cold and windy - Wear a base layer with a windbreaker and a buff.

 

If the cold is just bearable when you wear a short sleeve jersey - Wear your cycling shirt and pants.
