Bubbles2 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Zero points to the MC this morning, who specifically told all the 40k racers that the finish Line was at the red flags, so as not to interrupt the longer races coming in from the opposite side. first ever road race, sprinted to the finish line, then promptly got off, checked my time on my watch and slowly started walking towards the main finish line. Only to find out that the timing mat was at real finish line. Hubby had to shout at me to move it and get across. Not impressed.
Schnavel Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I did the long distance and they also never mentioned where the finish was... We were all sprinting for the flags and all got a surprise when we got there and still had to make the turn! Almost crashed as a result!

No coke or energade at the finish - except for a bit of mixadrink that seemed to run out. Race finish up a narrow entrance road!!!! ASG and Bestmed should be careful what they put their names too.

Last year they ran out of medals...now the "mixadrink"....next year they have run out of cyclists...I'm never doing another ASG race.The fees go up and you just get less and less. Look at the Goodie Bag?? At least the 94.7 you get something worth the money, Enough water, coke, messages, lekker Goodie Bag and a can of Coke & Energade at the end!!

Only gripe are the few toilet,s .But then i knew that would be a problem and raced the crap out of everybody .3h15 .Is that a respectable time? To the CHOC riders .I see you enjoy the kuier ,but you also need to concentrate like the rest of us .A drink other than powerade would have been nice Edited October 19, 2013 by Blitzer

Hydration is a big part of all sports and my health issues require me to stay hydrated or I can die quick quick! (Not even joking.) After I finished I had to go stand in a queue for 30min at the bar to get water and a cooldrink. Yea after they didn't give us a goody bag (which I dint care about usually), no pin s and no medal (which I also don't care about), they could have AT LEAST given us water at the finish. The entry was R60 less than 94.7 and Argus for goodness sake. I won't be back.
