Northern Suburbs Open Water Training?!?!?!

I'm just looking for some good spots for open water training in the Northern Suburbs, Cape Town.

Any groups that meet? and when? would also help.

i work opposite the quary at tygervalley and look out the nice open bit of water between the flats and i'd love to know if it's safe to swim there. The paddlers use it and I have heard it's 800m around. Looks damn cold but could be a great training place. Don't think there's any other open water venue in the area. There' the bellville open air pool that the guys train in . Can't remember who runs it but was discussed on one of the threads recently, try the swim sets thread.

I've heard of a group of folks that swim at the Hillcrest quarry early mornings... obviously wetsuits required thou.

Dude, you guys have the sea in Cape Town. Lovely open water available in the sea.
