Giant TRC 1 2013 lighter then new 2014

I was at bike store and weighed the new 2014 TRC 1 Medium it was 8.3 kg them weighed a Medium /large (note size ) 2013 TCR 1 and it weighed 7,65 kg.

 

That's nearly 1 kg heavier. Scan that extra gear weigh so much ?

 

So if they had a medium large 2014 it would be 1 kg difference !!!!!!

 

Any advise ,as I am in the market for a new road bike?

Did it have exactly all the same parts and wheels, except for the frame size difference?
