  1. What a strange reply from you -a person is asking why not-a bit concerned the race and trail is so restrictive and you coming out all defensive. in fact the organizers should view it as great compliment we even both to try and resolve this and hopefully change the policy allowing more entries to be sold!! 1) we want to spend R12 000 plus a person 2) we all know well there are plenty good races these days and many at half the cost 3)Entry’s are down tremendously with inflation and other issues, here we saying more will ride - constructive input Goodness me you must be California?
  2. My humble apologies. I meant the adventure or the race, dates. Ideally the race because then we are able to still attend to work and number of people are employed and it’s not easy for them to just take work off. It would be wonderful if this was possible and I’m hoping that the powers that be may allow us to be possible.
  3. Please tell me why EBikes are not allowed? Let’s get to the fact that the Cape cycle race had a 18% effective Ebike Entry this year! . That was mountain bikes, as well as road bikes, which were E powered. 22% of all bikes sold over the past year over R50000 are now Ebikes For my team and club to do the adventure 10 teammates the timing is not correct as we lose an “entire week of business” ! So we asking is it possible that we could do that ( 2nd race ) Adventure or (3rd final race) Race = we do not care if we don’t get a a placement or for that matter, we do not care if we are regarded as “did not finish” but all we interested in is riding the race and having fun. We’re going to be nowhere near the front!! Inconsiderate indeed, of the race organizers. I hope someone else will come up with a race at the same or similar time more suitable over the weekend on a three day race that Ebikes are allowed.
  4. Wow, I’m sorry to hear that and yes, absolutely absolutely coming down where the river is there were a few people mingling in the wall. They didn’t seem to even realize that they were bicyclist coming down at 65/ 75 km an hour. I don’t know what can be done, but it’s definitely a dangerous area as well.
  5. I was in the Cradle today and I saw gentleman who had been knocked over seems that he had mild concussion a number of bruises possibly broken bones. I’m told that a taxi knocked this gentleman over. Just before we came up to this gentleman about 5 km before we saw Taxi Travel and around about + 130 km before the Rhino park entrance. I used my hand to try and wave down the taxi to go slower. Of course he had no consideration whatsoever. We did the entire loop and again we came across another taxi Travel at roundabout hundred kilometers an hour somebody is going to get killed unless there are more safety procedures put in place and massive big bumps to stop these vehicles from going so fast. Nothing else will work. THE restaurants, coffee, shops, and lodges that profit from the VAST number of Cyclists should put money together to put these traffic calming preventative measures in place. unless someone’s able to actually get this useless City Councile to do anything.!??
  6. Sincerely - I would never ride with a lady - way to much risk as the start when you drive in hundreds of vagrants “trying to park your car “”, when you park and some parts of the route - not worth it as we seen when something goes wrong the lumps of poo 💩 do nothing , are not trained and don’t care !!!!!!!!!! Never risk this ride for your safety.
  7. That’s a good story to listen to. I’m not saying anyone should not have a biopsy, but I’m just saying there may be possibly better diagnostic methods that are not invasive and do not offset the cancer possibility like a biopsy. Does anyone know about this?
  8. Congratulations to the Cape Town city Cape Council run by the DA. The race was incredibly well organized. There were no criminals loitering at the finish or for that matter there were no criminals along the way we all felt safe and everyone was happy and the organizers for the Johannesburg 94.7 can learn a lot about proper security, proper policing and keeping criminals away instead of employing fat Usless Good For Nothing Security staff that are nothing more than their brothers and sisters coming for a free lunch !
  9. Yes I have heard of this happening. I realy would like to know more about this phenomenon. Is there any reliable information or research that has been done?
  10. I am told that there is significant evidence that indicates that if someone is going to have a biopsy for testicular or prostrate cancer, the biopsy itself can exacerbate the spread of cancer. The Mayo Clinic have noted in number of cases the potential spread may very well have occurred though a biopsy. In other words, the cancer may have been dormant for many years. It’s suggested that one should have a sonar scan and / or a high intensity MRI scan. if there any medical professionals that know a lot about this information, please, could you share your thoughts on this? thank you 🙏
  11. Evening - Does anyone know where decent e-mountain bikes can be hired in Johannesburg for three or four days?
  12. What a hero! A tough guy you are what about the ladies expect them to behave like this? Why should anyone have to worry about this crime issue and f all security coming to a race when there are venues that don’t have the same security issue. Why don’t you join the army?
  13. The organizer I am told more then likely don't care and don’t respond! I am not surprised 😲
  14. Way to many unsavory people and fake care gaurds- careless security staff - they either move it to safer place or I am not going to ride this race again - why it’s just to dangerous and risky - the way to avoid crime is by voting with your wallet ( if it does not get stolen ) and using your head! I also can’t take the risk of driving around for an extra half an hour as no signage was put up after the highway 🛣️ this race is tainted by the city council inability to do anything properly. I am out and will do other races like ride for sight and Monti as well as the best race well organized race the Cape Cycle Race - this is in a city but you feel safe as the police do there job ( I did see 12 fat police in big van ) cruising around eating kfc ) doing f all as expected! Very sad as the route is great but now the risk to high.
