Santa said I can choose between these two wheel sets at a good price

Being a heavy bloke which of these would be the best option in terms of durability and bomb proof as well?

Not sure which year model they are....

So it turns out this Mavics are 6bolt, and the shimano centre lock. So the Mavics it will be, provisionally reserved them for me. Its a very good deal I think

Ya, but their freehub bushings are made of cheese. (True story, they're even yellow.)

 

Fortunately the issue is fixable with a Hubdoctor conversion.

 

Otherwise they're great wheels.

Had both.... The Shimano hubs are really bad. They tend to get dirt in them very easily and start grinding and moaning very quickly.

The Mavics (CrossMax) have cartidge bearings that are not only less prone to junk getting in, but also very easy / cheap to replace and service.
