Old bike is a ladies frame 18"(m) 26" wheels - all good.

New bike 18" M - 27.5 wheels - men's frame - zero clearance standing over bike - not ok! I don't want kids but I also don't want my bits bashed each time.

 

Are you supposed to go down frame size with bigger wheels? Noob stuff up of note?
