I really love the ones I bolded. I've met Bowie. I have all his albums (records' date=' not CD's). Favourite song is Station to Station off 'Stage', though.

Lou Reed-he was in Sydney last year for the Sydney Festival. He did a concert or two. The best thing though, was I went to a poetry recital. Ralph Fiennes was to participate and when I got there, they announced he wouldn't be and had a replacement. It wasn't until I took my seat that I saw Lou Reed up on stage. I was so excited, this was even better. Ah, it was heavenly. Managed to get a photo of him outside, too.

has to be live, from the "under a blood red sky" album. my favourite u2 song is "october", which reminds me of the eurythmics song "julia", which has similar lyrics.

and what about lloyd cole. he played in newtown, was it last year?

tell me what this is from:

my shadows the only one that walks beside me

my shallow hearts the only thing that's beating

"Boulevard Of Broken Dreams"

I walk a lonely road

The only one that I have ever known

Don't know where it goes

But it's home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street

On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams

Where the city sleeps

and I'm the only one and I walk alone

I walk alone

I walk alone

I walk alone

I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me

My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating

Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me

'Til then I walk alone

Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah,

Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah

I'm walking down the line

That divides me somewhere in my mind

On the border line

Of the edge and where I walk alone

Read between the lines

What's f**ked up and everything's alright

Check my vital signs

To know I'm still alive and I walk alone

I walk alone

I walk alone

I walk alone

I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me

My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating

Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me

'Til then I walk alone

Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah

Ah....Billy Joel...it's gotta be Piano Man

This thread reminds me of an INTENSELY jealous moment in my life. I'm a HUGE Dave Matthews fan. Me and a mate(also a big DM fan) were having a drink one night when a buddy of his sms's to say he just walked out of a unadvertised, unpromoted and unplanned Dave Mathhews solo acoustic gig in a little pub somewhere in Scotland!!!!

I just love how we attach memories to music.....love hearing a great song and being reminded of some significant event in my life

Most of the time I go without music, but once in a while it's nice to go offroad when you're not in imminent danger of soccermoms driving 4x4's.

Rammstein

Live - Throwing Copper

Smashing Pumpkins

Chris Cornell

Faithless

Dire Straits

Radiohead

Nine Inch Nails

...the rest is a frightening amount of bad 80's music
