Inflating presta tubeless tyres with the valve core removed - how?

Cool, I understand that, but my main question was why you would need to seat a tyre on the trail? Even when a tyre burps, it remains seated in most cases, it doesn't pop of the rim completely. After most tyre burps you just need to inflate to the desired pressure again.

But I understand that some TR tyres don't sit that tight on certain rims, and that you need a high flow rate to seat them, and that requires the core to be removed.

Yes you are 100% right...most "burps" just result in a loss of air....you just need to top up the air and you are rolling again. But every now and again(I am talking 1 in 20 odds) a burp results in the tyre loosing all its air....in those cases its not the burp so much as the debris that now sit in the bead as a result of the burp(grass, mudd, sand)...so tyre wants to seat itself again, but can't because their is kuk in the way.

Now you problem on your hands...you have to clean the debris out, but to do that properly you have to break the bead completely...

I once removed the core to top up the sealant in my back wheel and then when I replaced it I forgot to tighten the core with a tool - it was just finger tight. Anyway, I inflated the wheel and then screwed the valve cap on nice and tight. Next morning go for a ride and get e large puncture that wouldn't seal and needed a plug. All fine except when I tried to re-inflate with a bomb I tried to remove the valve cap but because I had screwed the cap on tighter than the core no matter how I tried, everytime I tried to unscrew the cap, the core came out with it! Of course my bomb adaptor would not fit onto the stem without the core so I had to chew the valve cap off from the core, chipping my tooth in the process so that I could put the core back in, re-inflate and proceed on my merry way.

Moral of the story, make sure you tighten the core properly before putting the valve cap back on!

Yes please tell me ( no sarcasm intended) cos once you remove the core the presta valve adaptor does not fit on the schrader valve

Depends on the pump adaptor. If you have one of those dual sided jobbies with the lever that compresses the rubber to make the head fit its super easy, use the schrader one.

If you wanted to be fancy and bought a nice Lezyne pump, its not gonna work. The pumps with threaded connectors don't work. And also, dont pump it super hard without the core, the adaptor might come flying off with air and possible sealant spraying out.

My process. Take out core. Pump to 1 bar. Get core in hand. Remove adapter and quickly pop the core back. And remember to just nip up the core with a pair of pliers, so you don't have to walk around with chipped teeth
