Apparently there are over a billion bicycles in the world - and nearly half of them are in China! Here's some absolutely mind boggling figures: China (1992) @ 450 000 000 bikesUSA (1995) @ 100 000 000 bikesJapan (1996) @ 72 540 000 bikesGerman (1996) @ 62 000 000 bikesIndia (1990) @ 30 800 000 bikesIndonesia (1982) @ 22 300 000 bikesItaly (1995) @ 23 000 000 bikesUK (1995) @ 20 000 000 bikesFrance (1995) @ 20 000 000 bikesBrazil (1996) @ 40 000 000 bikes Apparently bicycle production rose by 3.2% in 2007 to 130 000 000 units, with China producing 2 out of every 3 bikes made worldwide.
