FSA Gossamer vs Shimano 105 crankset

Hi guys, I am busy building a ride, I'm fairly new to the sport and this is my first build. I have a very low milage Shimano 105 5700 groupset which I want to fit to a BB30 frame. I'm not too sure what to do about the crankset though. Would you rather fit the Shimano crankset with BB30 adapter or would you rather go with the FSA crank and BB30 bottom bracket?

Keen to see the feedback on this one as I currently have the FSA crank and BB30 bottom bracket and am looking to change to latest Shimano Ultegra or Dura Ace. I have DA STI's and derailleurs already. Or is that just a waste of money?

BB30 supposedly stiffer and lighter than GXP type cranks, but I would also guess that it's dependent on the level of equipment too.

For example, Dura Ace would likely perform better than an entry level BB30 crank.

Assuming the 105 and FSA are at simillar tiers, then they probably wouldn't be too different.

I would stay with the 105 crank. Much nicer and when you upgrade its easier to sell a complete groupset. You might wanna change frame later to one with standard BB, if you could call BSA standard.

Thanx Cippo, I believe the Shimano is the better of the two cranks yes, was just wondering if the advantages of the BB30 over BSA are substantial enough to rather go with the FSA crank.

Anybody have any issues with using these adapters, how reliable are they and which one would you recommend using since there are quite a few around?
