I personally tried a few different brands in search of something to rid me of my spez fetish. But guess what, turns out it is not a fetish after all (ok maybe a little). After trying (owning) commencal meta 5.5 (still own) and 4, merida ninety six and One Twenty, giant anthem adv (still own), trance and ibis mojo I found that when it comes to fit and ride quality I prefer then spez does it for me.

My mate is riding a ibis mojo after coming off a spez and he loves the Mojo and is even planning on getting the HD 650B next.

I am still on a 26er and was tad worried what brand I would buy into next because spez was not going to do 650B. There goes that worry.

So even though there are other brands that are doing 650B that are immediately available, some of us would much rather skip the trial and error bit and invest our hard earned cash in a bike that we know will work for us. Simple as that.

Do you think maybe the chinese workers just pay more attention when they know that the blank frame they are working on currently is going to be getting a Spez decal on it? :whistling:

Do you think it is different for any other brand? I think its not about who builds it, but who designs it. We dont have the brightest workforce in the world yet we manage to assemble luxury german cars without hassles. Not gonna get into a war with Spaz haters. Fact remains that is a good looking bike, and I shall be first in line at my lbs to test ride the hell out of it.

I love everything about Specialized, the ride, geometry, the design, the brain, the marketing hype and most of all it feels right when ride so way buy anything else if I happy with Specialized.

I'm not going to stop riding Specialized cos the guys on TheHub say it just marketing hype and it's overpriced (i make that mistake one before) I'm very happy with my bike and will keep supporting Specialized till I feels it's not working for me. I also can't see that anyone that appreciate good workmanship can look at a S-works and say "no not nice"

100% with you.

The finish on the comp to the s-works models are top notch. I prefer spez cable routing on their mtb's, simple, clean and effective. I always assemble my own bikes so I notice the small finer details.

Specialized suspension incorporates cone shape washers that fit on either side of the bearings, this prevents pressure on the bearings when the bolt is fastened. So there is only pressure on the inside ring of the bearing and the bearing can run smooth and free of any pressure. Would I notice this when I am out riding, maybe not but at least spez thought to do it. All the other brands that I have owned and own are and was not as meticulous.

The paint on my stumpy works is freaken amazing. Not only does the paint look amazing but it stands up well to trail abuse. Hats off to the peeps at spez that decide the art for the bikes.

Just fantastic bikes all round.

I love all my bikes but I love my spez the most.

Told Mike at Complete that I want an aluminum in baby blue... Recon, if I'm going to spend more that my budget, everyone should know...

Started eating baked beans on toast...

So can't wait.

I'm pretty sure you can fit 650b wheels on most 26" specialized bikes...

They fit perfectly on my epic.
