HAKAHANA TRAILS

We are busy with signage. A week or two and we should have all three stages marked, as well as the most direct ride up there.. Even so the group is growing and its making for a fun day out. Its the best way to find your way to the schweet-spots. Watch this thread.

As mentioned in bold above, I hope you are not referring to marking my van with signage :whistling:

thinking of going to Hakahana this weekend - never been and it looks like fun

any chance someone could mark the new enduro lines on the map?

or strava/gps - anything would be better than searching all day :)

I would offer to show you around but I wont be around, Hakahana trails will be able to point them out on a map for you, he has maps at the trail centre that he could show you.

Alternatively, there should be at least one or two trail builders riding there over the weekend.

Daniel, You're in Luck mate. I am busy marking the lines. All Enduro sections will be marked in High-Viz ORANGE. SP1 (Rinkhals) & SP2 (Sidewinder) will be done by the weekend.

You will now be able to follow GREY out all the way from the trailhead directly up to 'the saddle' where the last climb up to SP1 splits left, and SP2 & SP3 (Peppercorns) splits right. SP3 wont be completed yet.

Hint. Top save you extra climbing suggest do SP2 then SP1.

I know this may sound stupid but wil a 100mm Carbon Hardtail survive the stages?

Most of the stages are ridden during the Trailseeker Series and I suspect on a number of carbon hardtails. Although at Hakahana most of them walk down the very technical rocky sections. So it will depend on your personal skill level. Where we have created drops and jumps (there are pics somewhere in this thread) you will just choose to do the easier B line.

That's the spirit guys.

I'm sure we will do something fun like a prize for the quickest xc hardtail or novice category. Enduro is all about being really social. And you will become a better rider.

Such a thing would never happen in Guateng!

We can always give it a go! Saw on Facebook a guy won a DH race on a hardtail bike. It all depends on the rider, well that is what I think.

I am 20, I want to do something that will give me an adrenaline rush, I want to move away from the "normal" XC. I am still in the house, and while I am in the house I may do Downhill anymore because it is to dangerous according to my perants. So I want to use my 29er and enjoy my cycling and doing mad stuff. I am also checking out Dual Slalom racing, but here is nothing in Gauteng.
