  1. Old boys can access the grounds as well as parents as far as I understand. I am an old boy and sent the OSA a message, they sent me a form to fill in and said I would be added to a list. It seems you simply have to have some affiliation to the school which is fair enough. Was an easy enough process but also couldn't find anything on the website.
  2. Not sure what the price will end up being, or when it might reach us but the new Orbea Laufey look very nice!
  3. Have to disagree with the pedal bob theory from all the bikes I've ridden it has very very little and worth any sacrifices in the suspension department when it is pointed downhill! Since getting mine my proper trail bike has been gathering dust as I never feel "out gunned" on it. I may be biased but since getting the ASR I haven't looked back, I really enjoy racing but prefer my riding to be fun and fast and for me the Yeti ticks all the boxes. Broken frames are unfortunately a reality with lots of brands and from what I've seen the ASR doesn't suffer from this any more than other brands. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those bikes but the Yeti gets my vote
  4. Stolen: Giant Talon 2014 When: 25 June 2016 Where: Pretoria, Gauteng The bike was taken from my commune in Brooklyn, Pretoria while I was out. Don't have anymore details at this point in time unfortunately, still reviewing camera footage to see exactly what happened. Get further details about the incident in the Stolen Bikes section
  5. Do we need our SAS boards for this, spending the night close to the start and managed to forget him at home. Will there be a chance to buy a new one at registration tomorrow morning?
  6. Hi guys, can anyone recommend any cheap accommodation or camping in the area? We are a group of four students who would like to spend the night before there but just want to see what our options are as cost is a big factor.
  7. I think Jared Graves needs to be on that list!

    Berg and Bush 2015

Hi all, is anyone else struggling to access the Berg and Bush website? I see the car shuttle service was meant to open yesterday but I couldn't seem to get on to the website yesterday and same problem today. Anyone else have this problem?
  9. You think Rabon might race with someone else as another support team for Kulhavy and Sauser?
  10. You can fit a bottle cage on, it's just not in the most practice place
  11. Route marking wasn't so great this year...
  12. Of course they aren't! I Love the look of the Yeti SB95! But getting a bit off topic here. Very keen to come through to Hakahana soon!
  13. Don't worry MTBer I know, just a bit of a tongue in cheek comment
  14. Such a thing would never happen in Guateng!
  15. Why stop there? I'm thinking a nice Tarmac strip along the whole spruit!
  16. I know it sucks sometimes but rules are rules! I have been in the same situation as these kids before and as frustrating as it is you just have to accept it! I finished the whole of Sani when I was 16 only for CSA to remove my result on the finish line in Scottbrugh! I'm sure these two kids can ride but it just takes one parent to be convinced their son can do it when he really can't to cause a massive accident that can effect everyone around it! It's all in the name of safety and it took me a few years to appreciate that the rules are probably for the best, focus on the races you are allowed to do and build up! It's worth it! Agains I'm not saying these kids can't ride it's just one of those unfortunate realities for the ones that truly can!
  17. The new new Yeti AS-Rc is a real beauty! And the reviews seem to indicate that it's far more capable then you would except!
  18. Well done Google on taking the series win!! Pity about how things unfolded in the sprint for the race win but taking the overall is awesome!
  19. Ratboy did a proper job with that foot
  20. Really sucks for Josh! After such an awesome season one silly mistake could put a dampener on it all
  21. I've been doing cross fit for about a year now and ya it hasn't exactly improved my riding dramatically, although I do feel it has helped. It has however made me feel like a far more rounded "athlete" ( not even sure I can call myself one at the moment). If you want to be a pro cyclist or take your cycling very seriously then stick to the bike as it will effect your cycling training to some degree. I enjoy it as the place I go is very sociable, with friendly people and a great vibe! As with WrightJnr I feel much stronger, healthier, flexible and just more well rounded physically! As with the injury side, if you don't go in with a massive ego and understand and respect your limits I honestly don't think you will have a problem! Get a proper coach, follow his/ her instructions exactly and don't let you ego get in the way. The only way you'll know for sure is to give it a try
  22. Ruan at spokeworks gets my vote as well!
  23. I think most bike shops would do it for you, especially the smaller ones. Just usually comes out more expensive then buying a complete bike
