Good place to start would be at wonderboom airport. All along the perimeter fence. Approx 6km per lap

I second Maniyak cycles. There's a dedicated beginners / novice mtb group ride every Saturday, as well as an advanced mtb ride on Saturdays. On Sundays there's aither a road ride or a serious mtb session, like to harties and back, Cullinan and back etc. They're in Braam pretorius, rides start at 06:00 this time of year.
