IMHO, get the Black 3, prices have dropped, 3+ does offer slightly better battery life and sound quality easily overcome by getting another battery or external battery pack and most edits overlay music or other sound tracks anyway, low-light shooting is better in 3+ but how much riding are you going to do at night?...and you will find that the resolution vs FPS settings combo you will most likely use are the same on both cameras.

Edit: Try stay clear of SanDisk cards....lots of issues causing cameras to freeze (not sure if 3+ has sorted this out)...also whatever brand you do get it must get Class 10 to cope with transfer rates.

Mate,

Thanks for all your input. The reason for the question re the Black 3 vs Black 3+ was mainly for exposure issues. I won't be doing much night riding - if any - but want to know the camera will handle the change of exposure under trees when riding from shadow into light and vice versa. The auto light mode in the 3+ should be good for that. Other factors such as battery life, remote and sound are less of an issue as you correctly point out. I am also intrigued by so-called new features such as Super view. I suppose what I want is to show scenes as close as I can get to real life.

Thanks for your informative feedback so far.
