Event Name: ISUZU TRUCKS PE << PLETT
When: 13 September 2014 - 16 September 2014
Where: Plettenberg Bay, Eastern Cape
Category: MTB

In 2014 the route will take the riders from Plettenberg Bay to Port Elizabeth. A lot of the 2013 route will be used but tacking it in reverse keeping the sea on your right will be even more insane and beautiful than the up run from Pe to Plett. The race Organisers will start early January 2014 preparing and redesigning a route that will be equally as challenging but the gods may be kind to you with a SW wind pushing you home.

Day 1

After registration at Beacon Isle Plett we will start at the Plett Caravan park alongside the banks of the Keurbooms River and run a similar route to that of the 2013 Day 1 event with some obvious changes around Natures Valley where new single track is being explored and less portage. We will continue past Storms River Village en route to Kareedouw with the 1st overnight being at the school grounds.

Day 2

Being on the R62 , it is absolutely beautiful as we exit opposite Assegaibos and wind our way across the Kouga Mountains into the Patensie Hankey area .This takes us into the citrus area of the Gamtoos River Valley with magnificent riding. We have numerous options re our overnight village and will finalise shortly.

Day 3

We now have the opportunity to ride the Longmore Forests and together with Fat Tracks MTB club we are starting to cut and explore new single track in this pristine area. With our overnight stop at Woodridge School we don’t have to cover big distances so we can do a whole lot more technical and just have Fun.

Day 4

The team at Woodridge are hard at work with new tracks and we will very likely follow the route from the school in reverse until we get to the base of Huff Puff Hill when we will then run along the coast past Maitlands and Seaview and follow the fynbos trail for an epic finish at the Boardwalk Casino and Hotel complex opposite Shark Rock Pier where we started the inaugural 2013 event.
