  1. I am hoping for delivery of my need steed today! Went with the Commencal Meta AM HT 29'er in the end.
  2. Some great Black Friday deals out there: https://knollybikes.com/products/tyaughton-steel (40% off once you add to cart) https://lynskeyperformance.com/live-wire-special-gx-eagle-mechanical/
  3. That's a very interesting option. Thank you. I'll trawl through some reviews on it. Lovely specs at first glance though!
  4. Thanks so much for the response. That's exactly what's holding me back from buying. I just can't get my head past the feel of my steel cotic.... I chatted to Wayne this morning about the Rapide Tigre but I'm just worried that I'm a touch taller than their max hight recommendation on their XL. Decisions decisions. I'm really having to force myself to be patient here!
  5. Sorry not sorry for raising the dead here. I need some advice. I'm pulling the trigger soon on a new HT monster. Current front runners are: - Nukeproof Scout 290 (Concern is CRC in business rescue, and crazy shipping / duty cost) - Commencal Meta HT AM Race (https://commencal-store.co.za/products/meta-ht-am-race) I can't help but think I want something in steel through. I have a cotic simple SS which I really love riding. I just can't seem to find a good option here that comes as a full bike, with OEM pricing on components AND ships to SA. I'm 1,98m tall, so I need an XL or XXL depending on the brand.... makes things that much harder to find. Any thoughts / help on stores that serve our niche market would be appreciated.
  6. I have the same machine, and get plenty of crema. But, it's probably less relevant than you think. This is a great video explaining what crema actually is: Fresh beans make the biggest difference, and you probably want to brew a little hotter in the Sylvia than you think.
  7. Hi all. I've put my SS back on the market, with a price drop for the new year. Will accept a reasonable offer. See it here: https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/321718-cotic-simple-29er-xl/
  8. Ya, sort of. Its also and emersion brewer and a filter brewer. The plunger is weighted, so you get consistent pressure every time.
  9. Hi All, I received a Trinity Brewer as a gift. While I really like the coffee it makes, I already have 2 aeropresses, and a clever dripper. I'm selling it for R2000. (see here for full value: https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/products/trinity-one-brewer) PM me if you're interested!
  10. All the best man. I've basically just switched to carnivore, and everything is better. Like, everything. Stable weight, stronger, much more clear thinking, amazing bowel movements (Because it's the first thing people ask me), recovery off the charts, hardly get sick, mood is stable, .... I could go on. My many many many hours of research and experimentation all point to one thing. Remove carbs. Don't bother adding fat. You can, without harm, but you don't need to.
  11. Mostly, because we don't like stale coffee, and, all those capsules! Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
  12. Argh. Sorry! I cocked that up. truthcoffee.com indeed. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
  13. Read, tried, love. The cleanest taste I've had by miles. Unreal how much difference it can make. I usually love a bit of cream in my coffee (yah, I know, terrible), but I loved a cup of this as-is.
  14. Get the delivered, fresh, every 2 weeks. Here: www.truth.co.za, or here: www.beanthere.co.za, or many others... but fresh they must be!
  15. Ooh. I haven't tried this yet.... I shall do this later today.
  16. You're just making filter coffee (If I'm seeing what's in the picture correctly. Which is ok, but Aeropress and ABID make an immersion brewed coffee. You have control over time too. Aeropress is a little in it's own class of coffee because you also the press the coffee through a semi puck, which changes it again. The clever dripper gives you time control, and then you filter through one it's brewed to perfection. It's really great. You have to try it.
  17. Giving up sugar and carbs was easy. Coffee, ain't gonna happen. No matter what. Ever. I'd rather be fat. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
  18. No idea, but I'm ignoring that. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
  19. You may already have done so, but I highly recommend a test ride on the Stage MAX. Ride up hill and back down again. The rougher the better. Then decide. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
  20. So I have to say. I own two aeropresses, and I really like the coffee. But, I got a clever Dripper a few months ago, and it's ALWAYS my first cup of coffee every morning. It's just such great balance of flavour for me. Going on holiday tomorrow, and very torn as to what to take with me. My hand grinder is packed. I'll probably take both. And a bodum. Maybe. 21. That's a beauty. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
  22. This correct. 2.25's are OK at the back, but I don't love them in front. Also, that spez rubber is pretty nice to ride on. I just got too many unrepairable punctures on them. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
  23. I wouldn't have traded my Ardent 2.4's and dropper post on the epic for any weight saving. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
