Sidmouth Posted April 25, 2014 Share I am moving to a MTB with a press fit bearing, I believe it is the BB95 on a Trek Superfly.I like to be in control and do my own repairs, but have always had screw in BBs, anyone with experience changing these BBs for a Trek Superfly with Sram cranks
LazyTrailRider Posted April 25, 2014 Share They're a bit more difficult to get in and out. Instead of screwing, you knock them out with either an expensive tool or homemade jig (large flat screwdriver, or piece of pipe, and hammer) and press them in with once again an expensive tool, or a piece of wood and a rubber mallet. A little bit of effort, but not the end of the world. What cranks will you be using? GXP or BB30?
Sidmouth Posted April 25, 2014 Share Thanksso all I need is the bearings from Bearing man or is it a unique kit from your LBS, any seal or washer that need replacing at the same time.

A press fit BB is a complete unit, with bearings, seals, spacers, connecting tube, etc. It of course needs to match the format of your cranks, so if you have GXP cranks, you run a Pressfit GXP BB, if you have BB30 cranks, the same story for this format.
