I was at the opening last weekend...The guys from Tool Up cycles did a great job. It's mostly single track with a lot of climbs and obviously what goes up must come down..I think it's a good place to practice mtb skills. I'm comming from Queenswoods side but I'm driving there with the car..Plan on doing a few laps so I'm gonna need my motorized wheels to get me home.

My daughter was born at the Medi Clinic 3 weeks ago and I eyed that area for a few months now. It just seems that where the area use to be open now it is fenced off. I hope they made this a super cool experience as the retain has the potential for one of the best spectator short circuits there is. I might even skip Skanskop.

Thank you for the info.

Search for the Wolwespruit thread......park opened last week.....some comments there that can serve as an appetizer. Was there last weekend.....will be doing the track again this weekend......with a nice brekkie afterwards.

Jip I did Wolwespruit this morning and I liked it. Not just a trail in a mountain but a mountain bike trail. Sections to get the back wheel out, sections to pump the legs and sections to hold onto the handlebar. And what a friendly bunch at the start finish too. So much potential here this will definitely be one of the big ones in the future.

Where and at what pace.

I am up for suggestions. But I am in for a long ride rather than too much single track. I need to stretch the legs a bit. The pic is a basic route to the west of PTA from my home. It can be chopped and changed but I have heard of some none safe zones in that area and that this basic route is safe. The distance displayed is one way. If you feel up to a 2 km ride up and 2 km back on the R511 we can also ride some dirt roads on the other side.

I have done some riding on the east side op PTA as well and we can also plan a ride out that side. It is maybe much more simpler going that side and a greater chance of meating other MTB'rs
