I'm not sure if this would work, but it could be worth a try.

 

Get hold of some white housing (a lot more common than purple) and soak them in purple dylon dye.

 

I've heard of people using dylon to colour anodised aluminium parts. If it can work on aluminium, it should work on plastic.

 

Just keep the ends above the water line so that the dye does not enter the cables. You can always cut those parts off.
