I see the BBC iPlayer offers UK peeps HD streams, how well it works I don't know, but there are higher speed domestic network infrastructures in place there. I think all the comms technology is here, it's just a matter of provisioning along the supply network chains. Fibre to the home might be a good start, but we have a long way to go, no thanks to the Telkom monopoly.
