To the guy that helped me on top of the climb in the half marathon, just after the split.....I cannot thank you enough for the +\-45min u spent holding my broken ankle up in the air while we waited for the recovery vehicle! U did tell me your name but after the stress of the day I had forgotten it. Then there were 3more cyclists that stopped to take over the holding my leg and helped to make a splint,(I had one of their numbers so was able to thank them!) I cannot thank you guys enough and really appreciate the amazing help! And Not only these guys but the 300 other cyclists that also passed to ask if we were ok. I am really impressed with the South African mountain biking community,I think we are a community we can all be proud of!

Well done people......still shows you there are folk out there that can still appreciate the bigger picture (although the "community" apparently also experienced a fisty cuffs episode).

However, 45min wait.......maybe various reasons and explanations for the delay. Just wonder what the situation would have been if it was an OTB event with severe facial injuries, concussion and the possibility of a cervical spine fracture.

But then again, different answers for different arguments......all depends on your philosophical approach to the matter.
