oh yes and Ray will unfortunately miss out as he had a neck op about 2 weeks ago. Will only be back on his bike in Feb but then painfree...we already miss his company on our training rides. His son will be riding the 40km though.

Hell, sorry to hear that - if he does not read this send him my regards and hope he heals soon!

What a nice day. A bit of everything......and mud. Nice meeting some Hubsters. The new Trek looked very nice and the owner was very chuffed with his performance (Roneblack46). Respect.to Thug on his SS Surly. Doefels still unhappy with the people from Canondale but his bike didn't let him down. All in all a very nice day........organised by a local school without the support of any big sponsors. Even the waterpoints were a big thumbs up. A true gem and back to basics. Thanks Neil for all the effort.

Woke up Sat morning in the hotel with a huge chest infection and a fever from hell so that was my race run before it even started. :( I considered doing it but the group I was with convinced me not to. In hindsite was the right decisin. Bummed I did not get to meet any of you guys, I was supporting you on the way in spirit though.

Looks like you all had a good day. Will be back next year. :)

Great stuff Nick. Just got home now.

It was absolutely fantastic! We just about doubled our normal time for 40km, but there was a lot of climbing ( and stopping for pictures!).

The mud was also a lekker addition to what we're used to.

Will try and post a few pics later on from the computer.

What a great race and perfect weather.

I thought I was fitter than last year and my time says I did finish quicker but by my calculations we did around 600m of climbing less although the routes were extremely similiar.

Great meeting everyone and well done TznDotMtb on your 2nd place!
