Wow, a completely different route this year, they won't go into the mountain, so fast  , ya.

The route narrative

After a short gravel road section turn LEFT onto farm roads before turning RIGHT onto a short stretch of gravel road where traffic rules will apply. Then LEFT onto farm roads again where you will cross the river where in 1801 Thomas Bentley was shot with a poison Bushman arrow giving his name to the river and the area! A long easy pull up to the first water point, note the soil erosion caused by wagons returning from delivering mining equipment to Kimberly taking a short cut to evade the toll gate at Dohne!! So E-Tolling evasion is nothing new!!!!

Over the nek, past Crawly House, note the old military barracks of an area described as “Good Friday Cliffs” in the old military despatches! Then over the road at the 2nd water point near the boom gate off the N6. Right for a 9km farm road loop then RIGHT again onto the gravel road for a glorious downhill but be careful there are bad sections! RIGHT onto farm roads & the 3rd water point then a meander past farm houses before crossing the dam wall and a short stiff climb up to the last water point (where you might even qualify for a voucher!)  and virtually downhill? all the way home.
