PWC Cycle Park question

Quick question on PWC cycle park: How busy (and safe) is it on weekday afternoons around 4:30 to 5:30PM. Their site says they close at sunset, so plan to be done about 30 mins before that.

Seeing that it's on my way home from work, thinking of a mid-week ride on late Wednesday afternoons, especially now that sunset is getting a bit later. Good idea or not?

I've been a few times after work and it is perfectly safe IMO. At any given time there's a few guys out on the trails.

We've spent quote a bit of time there (early morning and late afternoons) and have never had any issues.

There were always only a handful of cars in the parking lot the times we have been there on week afternoons. I have heard that the cycle lab guys have free/cheaper entrance one or 2 afternoons a week and that might increase the number of people.

Also there were always a trail runner or 2, but we never bumped in to them during the ride.

Entrance is R50 per rider.

Still quite expensive imo, but they are busy upgrading the park quite nicely and the trails are in the best condition they have been in a long while.

Thanks for the input guys.

Entrance fee is not really a problem, as I work at one of the companies that sponsor the park - so have free access. Was more concerned about security late in the afternoon on a weekday.

Hi Guys

The venue is safe to ride after work.

It is open from 6am to 6pm and we have a few riders that come through each

afternoon to train after work till around 6:30pm

The park is fenced all the way around and we do a daily fence patrol to check for breaches. We have security on site 24 hours.

Please come train after work and chat to the manager on duty should you have

any other questions.

Entry fee effective 1st October is R60.

You can buy multi-visit cards that reduce the daily fee down to as low as R30 per visit.

We hope to see you riding there soon.
