It was a shock to the system of many riders who thought this was goint to be a little jaunt through the daisies. An 8hour day for many of the riders.

Hot, windy, steep incline. (7hours for finishing 25th GC. Only 66 people finished day one of the 98 that started that morning) But they are changing the route for day one. From feedback at the end of the race day one will change with day 2 and 3 staying the same. Awesome scenery, beautiful flowers, great relaxed atmosphere. Will recommend to anyone up for a relaxed stage race! Not nearly as technical as Pioneer, not nearly as full (showers, food etc) as Sani.
DieVlieg Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 My wife's parents stay there. And I also use to stay in Springbok for 5 years but was not cycling then. Maybe I should go as I will have a place to stay for the family. I can believe the accent as there are some serious change in altitude from the cost to the area the race is run with more mountains that even go higher. That time of year is a silly season weather wise. Could still experience winter rain, summer sun or windy weather. I hope there are tickets left in Feb next year.

Ken daai area soos my hand ,is van daai wereld en dag 3 se roete loop nie ver van ons plaas huis verby nie.Middel deel van dag 3 het ek as kind plat geloop,speel,jag,skaap op gepas. Die geskiedenins wat saam met dag 3 gaan is iets baie besonders.(old copper route) en (Anglo Boere Oorlog) Sal graag wil sien waar dag 1 se roete gaan wees .Laas jaar was nie n grap nie,nie gery nie maar ken hom goed.As die blomme in 2015 staan soos ek dit al beleef het sal dit vir die wat dit nog nie gesien het n belewenis wees. Groete en sien julle daar............
