Reba long air valve

Aah, I see.

So I won't be able to just bang it apart then?

I've looked on there.  It shows what all of the other rebuild how to's show - a 10mm nut at the end of the thread.  None of the guides or videos show a long valve like this inside a hollow chamber.

The manual does not show photos of how to remove it but they do give you specific instructions for hollow lowers.  There is supposed to be a nut, but you need a long series socket to remove it, and the lowers are removed the same way as other Reba forks.  I usually remove the nut, turn it the other way round, and lightly tap it with a rubber mallet and it releases on the first tap most of the time.

Can I be the one to say it?

P*ephol!

My handy workshop hint for the day - put all the bits in a plastic tub as you take them out, or lay them out in an exploded arrangement on your bench. For one, you'll know where all the bits are, and for two you'll know in what order they go back together.

That's true, but I wasn't the one to take it off. Someone else at the office started stripping it, but that's the only piece that they took off.

Lesson of the day - work solo!

Sometimes help isn't all it's cracked up to be... you manage to get everything back up and running again?
