Choosing correct saddle?

Can someone please direct me to someone, some place or some information on how to get the correct saddle.

I have done an ergo fit and they set the height and set back but don't check that it is the correct saddle for me.

 

I have been struggling with really bad pain in my pelvis towards my groin area and also sore lower back on my longer rides. My ass also gets incredibly painful at times as well, as all my dimensions with regards to set up have been done professionally I am leaning towards the fact that my saddle isn't the right one for me.

 

Or is choosing a saddle more of try them out and see what is comfy?

Any proper bike shop should have a test pad that you sit on that marks the distance between your sit bones. Based on that they can tell you what width saddle to go for.

seat is like bibs, each person is different and you have to find what works for you. Fizik has got some great saddles. Did they check the with of your sit bone to make sure your saddle is wide enough or correct for you?

I would recommend going to a Spez store (concept cyclery) and have them measure your sit bones and advise on a saddle. They provide test saddles as well (I'm currently trying one).
