ALLMTB Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Good morning I've been wanting to get a clutch type RD for a while and yesterday CWC put one on special.In my haste and childish excitement I ordered and paid for it without doing proper research first. Seems like I have ordered a medium cage XT RD, but I have a 3x10 setup at the moment, with a 42/32/24 crank and 11-36 cassette. Most of the info online suggest I need a Long Cage RD. Will the medium cage RD work? Is anybody running a 3x10 setup with a medium cage RD?
Super_mil Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Follow this linkAnd have a read of the 2nd post in the thread. Google the tooth capacity of your new derailleur and then do the numbers. You may find that you can make it work by avoiding a couple of gear combo's on the limit of the RD's range.
