Hey guys want to find out a bit more info on this event. So there is a hard category? What's the price to enter the even? And we enter on the day. Do we need any club or any thing else to enter. Is the event all down hill or are there some uphill parts also. Sorry I'm new to enduro events.

You have to ride or push up to the starter each stage usually talking rubbish with your buddies (good idea to bring some who are of similar fitness to keep you company OR make some new ones on the day). You are timed only on the descents. You get to start by yourself, separated by at least 30 seconds.

I would really like to give this a go. It sounds like a fun format but there's no way it will happen for me this year. Are you planning to hold any more events next year?

All this effort for only one event? Don't think so. I reckon at least 3 events next year with 3 more awesome lines being cut. There is huge potential for even more lines...

Ok perfect I push up hills any way. Trying to get a few guys down from limpopo to race also. And I take in there are no practice runs like in downhill? Planing on using my 100 mm jump bike for the event you think that will be fine?

As said "ALL WELCOME"

I doubt he will look at your bike and say "you are not allowed to enter"

It depends on the rider what he/she can ride or not with what ever bike he/she brings to the party.

thanks, cant wait..

That will be cool having some out of towners...

If you arrive on Friday you can practise to your hearts content. In fact after the next two weeks you should be able to go practise the full route any time.

I could ride it on my hardtail without a problem but just wouldn't be that comfortable or fast over rocky sections.

I might take a chicken run or two, but I'll be there for sure - the riding at Hakahana is always great. Bringing some friends over the weekend to check out the lines.

Hopefully this is the start of good things - would be great to have more alternatives to the prevailing grondpad maratons :)

Accommodation can also be arranged at Hakahana for the out-of-towners or the locals wanting to make a weekend of it. ALL WELCOME!!!Go to Event Page

Hell yes!!!! Definitely in for this!!! Stoked to have an Enduro event in Gauteng.

Just to clarify...

we are arranging a shuttle to the start apex.

Is the start apex far from the start of each run. As in is there a lot of riding to the start of each stage/run? Just need to prepare my lard ass mentally for the climbs. Hahaha

No not after/for every stage, just for the start of the race (thus only before you ride stage 1).

As said by Hayleyearth. The shuttle will run between the Hakahana trail centre and the saddle. This will happen during registration, once you have entered and registered you hop on the next shuttle to get to the saddle where everyone will chill for race briefing and the start.

You will then have a short sharp climb up to SP1, after each stage you will have to ride back up to the start of the next stage.
