The fact remains that X1 does exactly what XO1 and XX1 does for cheaper, you still get 1x shifting and to some looks mind but function and price mind to me and lots of people.

The difference is sooo small. And losing the gripshift is a deal breaker for me. sorry.

I also like the gripshift. At the end of the day you must be able to ride it before we can have a few beers and brag about it

The reason i love the 1x setup so much is the fact that it cleans the bike up. Less cables, no front derailer, no shifters. The bike just looks so neat and clean, now they want to ruin it with a shifter. If it was R6000 or R7000 for x1, then it would make sense. For about R2000 cheaper, you lose all the carbon parts and the gripshift. I am obviously too dumb to understand that.

I don't mind the loss of grippy - I'm a fan of both the trigger and grip shift options from SRAM (currently running paddles, previously ran grippy)

Plus, it fits my McGuyvered LH shifter that I use for my dropper.

But yeah. R2k difference over an entire gruppo isn't that much. If it were a bit cheaper though, then it'd be a real value proposition.

Having said that - X1 (which is X9 / XT Level) is R 10k without brakes... whereas a FULL XT gruppo is R 8,495 with brakes. Which means, really, that the X1 is actually closer to R 13.5k when taking in the X9 trail brakes. That takes it into a totally different level.
