What is the correct way of using them.

Undo/loosen the "lace"/string fully when fitting the shoe, or un-clipping and re-clipping the lace.

I am new to this, but find neither option ideal. For option one it must be loosened a lot for fitting and for option two it is not that easy to fit the lace over the guide.

I use the unclip, reclip method when removing and putting on.

I would prefer this method, but my one side is a bit tight. As in very difficult to get the lace back in.

Wonder if I can "open" it slightly.

Just line the lace up with the clip and start tightening, it'll pull itself in.

I guess there is no "correct" way.

I undo/loosen the lace all the way, makes it easier to put the shoes on. Its too much of a hassle when removing the lace from the guide and trying to get it back in every time. And yes, there is a lot of string/lace to loosen but I have not had any issues with the closure system so far and I have the shoes for about year now.
