Riding from Cape Town to Citrusdal

Hi 

 

I need some advice. 

 

My family and i are going to Citrusdal for a few days. As a cyclist, i would rather cycle to the destination than drive for the training and adventure ! 

 

What route would you suggest taking to get there ? i would like to avoid the N7 for safety reasons. 

My parents can fetch me along the way at some sort of meeting point to shorten the distance. I don't mind riding up too 220km. 

 

Any input would be much appreciated

Get dropped off on agter paarl road on N1, ride into wellington, over bains kloof into ceres and then over gydo pass into citrusdal. Sounds great, maybe I'll join you!
