How would the 650b work on a 26er?

MRP fork lowers are the same for 650b & 26".

This is exactly what I have on my Meta AM (26r) and it works a charm .... MRP Stage set at 160mm

My Velvet works on the same principle and was one of the reasons it came onto my shopping list before buying it ..... kind of "future proofs" the purchase to an extent.

Manitou does the same with the Mattoc Pro Enduro fork

How does that work, in the shots of that commencal with the Stage and 26" wheels there's not a whole lot of clearance above the tyre wouldn't big 650b tyres have a hard time fitting?

What would happen if you ran a 650b front and 26er back wheel on a frame that could cope with some head angle slackening?

Hey Skylark,

Looks a little deceiving - if I were to remove the Marshguard you would see plenty of clearance.

I'm not technically clued up enough on the HA geometries but can tell you the Meta is slack enough at 67 deg.

I have heard of guys running the 650b F and 26r R combo and enjoy it . . not sure I see the point though ..... can never be half-pregnant :)

Next time I see Pikey I will ask him to put his Nukeproof Generator 650b on the front and post a pic.

My mate is running 650b front and 26r rear and he says it is awesome and can feel the difference going over tech sections.

In the wallride pick above you'll see that I'm running a 2.4 Vittoria GOMA with the MRP Stage 26/650B fork. It has also been run with 2.4 ONZA Ibex FRs and VeeRubber 2.4 FLOWs.

I also have a MarshGuard fitted

No such thing as clearance issues.

is always interesting when experimentation is possible

I'd like to try that it'd be interesting, apart from a slacker HA what would running a larger front wheel do for handling, roll over stuff a bit easier for one?

If you can run a 26" wheel in the stage that probably implies you could do that with any 650b fork?
