I think I am missing something wrt linking Polar Flow with Discovery. Currently it seems you can only link your Polar Personal Trainer account with Discovery. Seeing that I only have a Polar Flow account I am not able to sync any data other than uploading it manually.

Thanks for the offer on the V800 but I am still happy with my M400.

Cool stuff!!

Both sites work. polarpersonaltrainer.com and flow.polar.com.

To get started, follow the steps below to link your Polar device to Vitality, and upload your
workout data.
 You will need a Polar WebEnabled Heart Rate Monitor or Activity Tracker that can link to the Polar Web Services, either polarpersonaltrainer.com or flow.polar.com.
 Visit www.polarpersonaltrainer.com or www.flow.polar.com (device dependent) to create
your Polar Account (it is free).
 You will need to download and install the applicable Polar data transfer application (from the Polar Web Service) onto your computer: WebLink™/WebSync™ for www.polarpersonaltrainer.com or FlowSync™ for www.flow.polar.com (depending on which
Polar product/device you have). This will allow you to download your exercise/activity data
(device dependent) onto the applicable Polar Web Service from your device using the
applicable USB connection device/cable, to share this with Vitality to earn points.

To link your Polar Account to Vitality, follow these steps
Step 1: Click on the ‘Fitness devices and apps’ page under the ‘Gym and Fitness’ section on the Vitality menu and click on ‘Link my Polar account’.
Step 2: Enter your Polar Account login information to link this account to your Vitality account.
Step 3: Your workout data will be uploaded each night, or you can click on the “Refresh” button on the following screen to import your data at that time.

You cant sync automatically with polar flow web service and Discovery. You would need to export and import the file manually to Discovery. Polar does make the data from pola personal trainer available in the flow web service but not the other way around

The issue is that currently you can only use your Polar Personal Trainer account with Discovery. I have tried using my Polar Flow account details but it doesn't allow it.

Well it works, I have a V800 and my exercises are uploaded.  Did not work initially when the watch and flow service was launched.

When using my Polar Flow credentials on Vitality I get the following error message:

A problem was encountered during processing. There was an error with the API call: USER_NOT_FOUND.

I have emailed Discovery wrt linking a Polar Flow account. Let's see what they come up with.

Got it working. Just go and create a Polar Personal Trainer account using the exact same credentials as your Polar Flow credentials. Use these credentials on the Vitality site as explained by Izak.

Thanks for the help Izak!

I have been wondering about this as well - I have a polar flow and a personal trainer accounts. When I log in and link it doesn't show up any of my workouts on Discovery? Does it show up straight away or will it update overnight?

It should sync every night but you can manually refresh it in your workout tracker

I would also consider the M400. I have a V800 and if the M400 had even half the features of the big brother then it will serve you well. I am not sure if it can use all the same sensors as the V though,I have not investigated that. As for the build quality I have never had any issues accept excessive battery consumption once in a while. That was always sorted under warranty though. There V800 I can guarantee you is built like a brick outhouse. The M400 should be well made too. And on top of it all out I'd one of the best looking everyday watches it there, along with the Suunto Ambit.

Here is a nice comparison.

http://versus.com/en/polar-m400-vs-polar-v800

I've had both and the M400 is just not as rugged, albeit a crapload more beautiful.

Have stuck with the V800 for now.

I can confirm that my ride of this morning was sync'd with Discovery from Polar Flow!

Still have trouble - does it show past activities cause the the moment it is only showing the ride I did on Wednesday?

The way I understand it is that only activities recorded after the linking of your Polar device with Discovery will show. No historical data will be sync'd between Polar Flow and Discovery.

You can still upload previous sessions manually though.
