Okay so some may see this as a punt but here goes anyways. I am a cyclists and a developer of a product that has been on the market in real life conditions for a few years and am wondering what the cycling world (RSA) would think of this....let me know your thoughts:

We are looking at developing a relationship and trying to create a product that could be used with existing roads that will assist the safety of urban cyclists. To date we have had our Vuka bump used by all major roads authorities with great results and have testimonials to attach to our product after years of use.

Being a cyclist myself I would like to bring the VUKA BUMP® to your attention and see if it would be feasible to market/lobby this as a means to demarcate lanes on existing road shoulders or lanes wide enough to accommodate a cycle lane with local municipalities etc.

The VUKA BUMP® does not prevent the full road width being used but does create an audible and physical deterrent for the driver as well as cyclists who might wander into traffic.

Made from materials that do not get damaged by UV, discolour or degrade over time, they are permanent and last as long as the road surface. Ease of application and low cost compared to alternatives ensure that VUKA BUMPs®  are a simple way to divide traffic and create awareness whist cycling and driving.""
