Then I can have something to boast with in coming years. " I done a MTB event the day before riding the Argus". Something about that sounds so superhuman.
Johny Bravo Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 What a fun race. Geez I had a blast out there, all Jeep track and farm roads, no single track, no climbs, just 36km of district and farm roads. But I had an absolute blast, before the guys start complaining about no single track etc etc, I want to to thank the organisers for a great race. Such a cool vibe and nice people, not your typical PPA race. Not every mountain bike race has to be 40km with 2000m of climbing and 20km of singletrack. Thanks to Perdeberg winery and Mr Botha and his Dirtopia team, what a fun ride before Argus.
Marius Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Yeah, also enjoyed the ride. About 7 guys broke away from the start including Conrad Stoltz on a fat bike. Ma se harre daai ding sticks around loose gravel corners, really impressed. Unfortunately or fortunately we lost about 3 guys due to flats incl Conrad with about 10km to go. I enjoyed the little ride, got my 1h17 worth of threshold training in and walked away with 6 bottles of wine and a pair of socks We road in with the mtb's so got a 2 hours warm up and cool down after the ride, all in all good day on the bike.
New Landy new life Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I pushed so hard I got an average HR of 170. Was nice to do a high speed flatty for a change. 1:40 for this old man
