Bspoke Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Just managed to dismantle an orginal SSc black Ksyrium ,with a view to overhaul .Bearings rims etc still true, but frozen spokes . Anyone with a trashed rear wheel hanging in the garage care to sell, as 2 spokes disintegrated despite careful attention ,. Black or silver .No harm in trying .thksTony
David Marshall Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 If it makes you feel any better no amount of care or attention will loosen aluminium spokes that have seized. I have seen the spokes cut, bent over and unscrewed - nipple still intact. The nipples also have a habit of crumbling like mature cheddar when they become corroded. Measure the spokes that you need as the two sides are different. Also the Mavics have developed over the years and there are lots of different lengths. Best bet is to take samples into a bike shop and ask to go through the "magic box" under the workbench. You may get lucky.

Yusran Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Are these the spokes the same as the bladed spokes on a Ksyrium Equipe S or Aksium Race wheel? If so I have some spares spokes, and the Ksyrium wheelset is up for spares (I made the rims square... long and costly story)
